Marathon reading of Bowering's Burning Water in downtown Vancouver

Granville and Georgia, July 30th, 8am-8pm

2010.07.22 — On Friday, July 30, the W.A. Deacon Literary Foundation will undertake a project of unpredented proportions: a marathon reading of George Bowering's highly acclaimed, Governor-General's Award-winning novel, Burning Water.

""We hope that this, the first of it's kind, might turn into a Marathon Reading Series,"" says John Meier, the Foundation's president. Working in conjuction with the City of Vancouver, the Literary Foundation will organize students from UBC and SFU to conduct the reading between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m at the 700 block of Granville Street (between Robson & West Georgia). Volunteers from the general public will also have the opportunity to read for a 15-minute period. "
