Pulpfiction to host Edna Staebler Award ceremony

Bruce Serafin's winning book Stardust to be honoured at April 24 celebration

2009.04.06 — The Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction moves west this year, and so does the ceremony to recognize the winner.

Tanis Macdonald, professor of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, and one of three jurors for this year's prize, will present the award, and the winner's cheque for $10,000, to Serafin's wife, Sharon Esson. Bruce Serafin died in June 2007, shortly after completing Stardust.

The award ceremony will be a free event, and is hosted by Pulpfiction Books, 2422 Main Street, just off Broadway. The program gets under way at 7 pm. It is being held in conjunction with BC Book and Magazine Week. "
