New Star authors all over new subTerrain

2010.03.22 — subTerrain magazine has launched its new look with double issue 54/55, showcasing some of Vancouver's best authors writing about the Terminal City. The feature is stacked with New Star Books authors: of the 34 writers profiled, seven have published books with New Star.

First in the issue is John Armstrong, with an excerpt from Wages, his chronicle of the many awful jobs he's had. Next up is Can-lit heavy-hitter George Bowering with a selection from ""Alison and the Rest"", one of the stories in The Box, his new short story collection. Representing Vancity's poets are Helen Potrebenko and George Stanley, whose Vancouver: A Poem was nominated for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize. Lastly, educating the masses are New Star's 'big idea' authors, Rolf Knight, Stan Persky and an excerpt from Buddy's and finally, Bruce Serafin and an excerpt from Stardust, winner of the Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction.
